<image:title>About - Our Process</image:title>
<image:caption>First, you’ll meet with Barry Sacher, owner, lead designer, and project manager for Rock Paper Scissors. She’ll listen to your goals and motivations for your project, what about your current landscape works for you, and most importantly, what doesn’t. She’ll share our process and portfolio. Then she’ll talk about a budget (even if you don’t have one in mind) and schedule (even if you’re not in a hurry). The goal of the meeting is to gather information, discuss your options, and see if we're a good match. The site analysis is the first step to transforming your space—because analyzing what is already there determines the opportunities and constraints of your future garden. Barry will measure and photograph the property within the scope of work for construction. She’ll use this information to map the site, allowing her to understand everything from the changes in elevation and sun patterns to views to be exposed or concealed. We break the design phase into two parts: concept and final The concept phase is about exploration. We want to show you how your ideas can be implemented (and what it would cost) and provide you with options that you probably haven’t thought about that will still achieve your goals. Each Concept Plan comes with a rough-cost proposal. We may not have chosen your stone pattern or determined a lighting plan, but we’ll have a ballpark budget broken down into specific categories to help you understand the entire scope of work. Barry will also bring material samples and photos and can suggest other sites to visit to help you visualize your project. After the Concept meeting, you’ll have enough information to decide what parts of the project you want to focus on for construction. This determines the scope of work for the Final design. The final design phase is a detailed, scaled drawing of your future garden—the map the Rock Paper Scissors crew will use for construction. Details (for carpentry, equipment installation, etc.), lighting, and planting plans may also be included. The agreed-upon elements of the proposal are then converted into a contract, and a general construction schedule will be provided.</image:caption>

<image:caption>I've used Rock Paper Scissors Landscape on a variety of large and small projects over the past few years and have nothing but praise for their performance-- from start to finish. I have found them to be extremely professional and thorough while providing the highest quality of work on each of my projects. They listened carefully to my ideas and utilizing their experience and expertise, presented design and plant recommendations that enhanced the original concept and have worked perfectly. The team does an exceptional job while on the project, executing to near perfection without delays or extra cost (and they clean the area at the end of each work day- amazing). There is a full walk-through with the owner, Barry Sacher, upon project completion to assure that all design elements and goals were achieved; the attention to detail and professional concern for customer satisfaction is unparalleled- I highly recommend them for any job big or small. <image:caption>The work of the entire team over at Rock Paper Scissors is of the highest caliber. It started on Day 1 when Barry came to our home and listened intently as we expressed our vision to transform our partially-usable yard into a space our family can play and entertain in more completely. She took a reasonably-size yard that had only 50% utility prior to redesign and drew up plans that perfectly reflected what we envisioned, making full use of the available back yard space and suggesting ideas we had never come up with in all the time we’d spent pouring over how to solve for the situation. Discussions around project fees and timeline were clear with no hidden fees and came with an honest timeline about project completion. We permitted our work through the City and broke ground. What followed was a total transformation that exceeded our expectations by a wide margin. Our children spend about 30% more time outdoors and we now use 100% of our backyard space for play and entertaining. Barry and team were on point, exceptional with communication throughout the project and provided a detailed plant maintenance plan after the project was finalized. Thank you Barry & Team for providing our family a wonderful, new outdoor space! Anne & Aaron in Piedmont, California</image:caption>

<image:caption>I just want to say what a joy it was to work with Rock Paper Scissors Landscape Design. We had many ideas on what we would like to do with the backyard but needed an expert to get us there. Barry and her team worked with us to transform our yard from ugly and depressing to a beautiful, water and budget-friendly oasis. Working with our limited budget, she listened to our needs and together our ideas were translated into some concept designs which were refined until we got to the final vision that met our needs. Barry's knowledge of plants and experience with design worked to yield an easy to maintain and fun space. Friends and family who visit are blown away by the transformation and are in awe of the lighting, plant selection and quality of the work. I can honestly say we feel fortunate to have found such a talented and caring ally in our quest to improve our space and although we just met, are delighted to now call her a friend.
